MySQL Access denied for root

I'm using XAMPP 1.7.4 BETA 10 and when I try to create a user on MySQL as root, then MySQL say "ERROR: Access denied for root..." so I can't create any users and can't grant privilleges to any user.

Anybody can help me?

Normally beta version question are not answered here but rather they would get the developer's attention if you filled out the form with your beta issues here:
