Typo3 css problem

with typo3 4.4 I get problems only with XAMPP on a Linux PC. The CSS files don't get displayed on the backend. Which makes it impossible to work with. XAMPP on MacOSX and on Windows render the files correctly. New with typo3 4.4 is, that the files get gziped.
I have no idea where to look, or what to change.
