Graphics and layout of the site not displaying properly

Postby keithRichards » 07. May 2010 01:53

Hi there,

I am currently piloting my new website on my localhost.

The problem I am having is the graphics for the site are displayed
as they should be as long as I am running a browser that is on the
local host. When I log onto the site from another PC on my LAN the graphics and layout of the site do not
display properly.

Specifics to my install are listed below;

The site is residing a Linux server that is contained within Virtual Machine.
The VM is located on a windows PC that is on my LAN which is 10.1.1...
IP address of the Linux VM server on the LAN is 10.1.1.8
OS is Open SUSE 11.2
Web Server is Apache2
MySQL 5
Website document path in Apache is /root/svr/www/htdocs/mywebsite/
I am using the same version of Mozilla in both environments

I figure it must be a setting within Apache??? Any suggestion would be great.

Thanks,

KR

I had a similar problem but finally figured out it was a path issue.
You could also try to use something like $_SERVER['DOCUMENT_ROOT']
I think the xampp default config needs a ton of changes to be set to production. Would be nice if they included a good production config we could swap in.
