Restoring lampp

Hi,

I took the tar of lampp on one linux including my databases, applications etc and untarred on the other linux machine.

Then I took lampp distro 1.7.0 and tar xvfz in the opt directory to overwrite the lampp.

Then if run lampp start, mysql is not running. The socket file mysql.sock is not getting created.
