XAMPP + PHP 5.3 + zend_mm_heap corrupted

Postby Kuze » 02. November 2009 19:41

Hoping I can get some help with this issue I'm experiencing, details follow:

Recently updated to the PHP 5.3 release of XAMPP only to be greeted with blank pages when accessing my php applications through the browser. I've checked the "/opt/lampp/logs/php_error_log" file which is empty. However upon checking "/opt/lampp/logs/error_log" file, entries of "zend_mm_heap corrupted" are listed. The strange part is this, "zend_mm_heap corrupted" failure only happens for a few of my apps. o.O As you can imagine I'm really at a loss here... none of this makes sense.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Any ideas of how to remedy the "zend_mm_heap corrupted" failure?

Suggestions welcomed.

Since I'm running my environment in a virtual appliance and no luck finding anything of substance on the web, I've decided to revert to a recent snapshot and stay with XAMPP 1.7.1 until I finish moving my apps over from PHP to Python (which I was in the middle of doing in the first place), *this bug -or- error was just the icing on the cake* : )
