Hi

I cant start my mysql server it DID run fine then just stopped the error log says

031219 16:52:07 mysqld started
031219 16:52:09 Can't start server : Bind on unix socket: Permission denied
031219 16:52:09 Do you already have another mysqld server running on socket: /opt/lampp/var/mysql/mysql.sock ?
031219 16:52:09 Aborting

031219 16:52:09 /opt/lampp/sbin/mysqld: Shutdown Complete

031219 16:52:09 mysqld ended

but there is no other mysql server running, i have tired restarting lampp and the whole server but it makes no difference. what has happened why has it just stoped working. please tell me how i can fix it.

all fixed now thanks kris the problem was with the folder/file permissions, i had changed them by mistake but its all working now.
