You want to reinstall nearly ALL parts of XAMPP and do this with the developer package?

If you want to install all yourself, i can guide you through, if you want. It is not as complicated as it sounds, especially on Linux. What Linux are you using?

You cannot use it for compiling the latest versions. You need the devel package only for add-on (modules for Apache, PHP) etc., not for the main programs.

If you want to compile the newest releases of Apache, Postgres, PHP etc. you must not use Xampp, instead the source code supplied by the corresponding sites and all add-ons you like to include.
