Apache Friends Support Forum

I am running XAMPP on windows as a development platform and now need to start planning for deployment of the website I am development to a LAMP platform (other than XAMPP). I'm fairly new at this and have no experience with deploying MySQL DBs. Can someone direct me to a basic set of instructions for moving DB, tables, data, etc. ?

Please let me know if there is a better forum on which to post this.
