Curl on the newest install of XAMPP

Postby jaybytez » 09. April 2009 03:57

I am trying to figure out how to install Curl on the new XAMPP. I was able to do it with WAMP pretty easily, but the problem is all the articles that I get from Google on Curl and XAMPP show directories that do not exist for me.

The only php.ini file I find is under the etc/ folder and if I uncomment the extension=php_curl.dll...my XAMPP errors when I start up the server:

Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.7...
PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/opt/lampp/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/php_curl.dll' - /opt/lampp/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/php_curl.dll: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
XAMPP: Starting Apache with SSL (and PHP5)...
XAMPP: Starting MySQL...
XAMPP: Starting ProFTPD...
XAMPP for Linux started.

Any thoughts? Is Curl not install as a library for this version of XAMPP by default? In other documentation it talks of a specific Apache folder...this does not appear to exist in this install.

Any help would be great....thanks!
