help me to export/import database

hi there,
i am new user to xampp, so i dont know how to export and import data from xampp
can any one help me to import and export data from xampp..?

am using a content managment system called Exponent which uses the database of xampp. it uses php code to do that. but i dont think that this has a relation with exporting and importing data from xampp...

as i am a new user to xampp i have no idea what to do..

so, hoping any one will help me out with this problem.
