I'm wondering if anyone has a Synology disk station and has removed it's apache, php mysql and replaced it with Xampp?

Synology disk station
is a great NAS network attached storage that runs it's own apache, php, mysql services but it doesn't work very well at all.

It would be a good marriage Xampp and Synology

As i could find out in the Internet, the Synology-Stations are running an Linux. So it could be possible to run XAMPP there. You would need SSH-Access as root and then disable the onboard Apache and MySQL. Then extract XAMPP and try to start it. If it is not working, you could still compile your own Apache, PHP and MySQL, if there are the compiling tools installed on the box.

You will not be able to return the new one if you change anything in the Firmware! Just to make sure you know that!
