Can't crate new databases in phpmyadmin

Hi
I have Xampp. When i want to open phpmyadmin it askes for username and password. i can't get in with password but if i write username only it opens phpmyadmin but i can't create new databases i see this message:

# Create new database: Documentation
No Privileges

How can i fix this?

Did you go through the security setup?

If you did, sign in as the root user to change your privileges. Then setup accounts for yourself with all privileges. The following is from the Mac OSX thread - perhaps you can use it or modify it for Linux version.

By default username is "root" without password :)
