Installing without root access in any folder.

Hi,

This is an excellent bundle and seem to save lot of time in terms of configuring the pieces.

I am trying to get this installed in a Linux server in the user home directory. I do not have the root access and also do not have access to the opt directory.

I was trying to comment out the code piece that was checking for root access and also replace the string /opt/ with /home/xxxxx/xxx/ in some of the configuration files.

But looks like the reference to /opt/ is much deeper and it is even there in some binary files and thus I am stuck.

Question:
How to install XAMPP with out root access and with out access to /opt/ directory ie in user home directory?

Can someone please help me out?

Yes - i could not believe. You are right - if you cannot create a symbolic link at least, you cannot run the Xampp Package on your Linux.
