Postby BugX » 12. November 2007 08:44

Hi all..

Does anybody successfully run the xampp (mine is 1.6.4) on redhad 64 bit box?
whenever I try to run /opt/lampp/lampp startapache or anything, it always raise an error like this:
Code: Select all
/opt/lampp/share/lampp/phpstatus: line 4: /opt/lampp/bin/php: cannot execute binary file

XAMPP: Starting Apache with SSL ...
XAMPP: Error 126! Cound't start Apache!
XAMPP: Starting diagnose...
XAMPP: Sorry, I've no idea what's going wrong.
XAMPP: Please contact our forum http://community.apachefriends.org/f/

Does XAMPP 1.6.4 already support 64 bit OS?

Thanks in advace,
Andre

No, Xampp delivers 32-bit compiled binary code.

I dont know if there is any 64-bit binary for Apache, MySQL and so on.

There's a build in apache n php on my RHEL4, but just wondered if xampp is available for my box :P

Or does xampp give the source code (I couldn't find any link for this one)? so that we can compile it by ourself, and make it suite to our own machine?

Not nativ 64bit. You must install the 32bit compat libs to use XAMPP.

Hi Wiedmann, can you tell me more about 32 bit compatible library?
Where can I download the library? I thought the problem is on the binary itself.

Thanks..

IMHO with the package manager of your OS.

Well, I don't use Linux, so I don't know the package name for your OS. AFAIK you can find some names if you search the forum. Or aks in a support forum for your OS.

(Maybe an other XAMPP user with RHEL4 knows the answer)
