can i change the root to a windows partition?

hi,

I was wondering if i can run xampp under linux, but have my sites on another (windows) partition? In the apache config file, i changed the path to "/media/sdb1/myfolder", but when i enter 127.0.0.1 i get an error saying i have no permission to view the page.
