datadir not working

Good day,

I try to change datadir statement from /opt/lampp/var/mysql to my custom folder /data/db.

First i run /opt/lampp/bin/mysql_install_db --datadir=/data/db
Then i add in /opt/lampp/etc/my.cnf datadir = /opt/lampp

What it's wrong?
