mysql database on different drive

Hi,

I am trying to setup a webserver but being new to Linux I am having a
few problems. I have installed the lastest of ApacheFriends server
and seams that everything is working fine. I am having one
configuration problem however. I am not able to move the databases to
another drive. I tried installing Lampp onto another drive because my
database is pretty big and my other drive in larger also but, it
didn't run and not knowing how to use symbolic links very well doesn't
help. I tried changing a few settings in my.ini but it only moved
some of the files but not the big database file.

Any suggestions?
