mysql not creating socket

Hello, I'm using the latest XAMPP version and have a problem with MySQL 5.

MySQL is running on port 5045 but doesn't create a socket in /opt/lampp/var/mysql even though its specified in the my.cnf

Is there some reason for this, has it not been compiled in or is there something I've missed?

Hello, I'm using the latest XAMPP version and have a problem with MySQL 5.

After shutting down and restarting lampp its created the socket and everything works now.
