SSL Certificate... PHP not executing

I bought an SSL certificate from VeriSign and when I loaded it into XAMPP, PHP files stopped being compiled and sent.

When I viewed a PHP file it would ask me to download a file of type application-x/php or whatever the type is, and send the source code to me.

Any idea why it does this? Should I just rewrite the entire httpd-ssl.conf file for the VeriSign certs rather than leaving it as is but changing the paths to different certs?
