Xampp/Mandrake 10/ruby on rails?

I have a set up on Mandriva 2005 for learning Ruby, but I would prefer to use the Xampp system with Apache instead of Webbrick.

FIrst question, is, are there instructions/experience with this config?

I ran XAMPP on windows for a while a year or so ago and was very happy with it.

Are there any other Ruby on Rails users here?
