localhost to www

Hi there,

Newbie to the server world. I have installed a successful version of XAMPP on a SUSE Linux box and can sucessfully see my scripts in the /opt/lampp/htdocs/ folder. My question is how did you make the leap from localhost to the WWW. How can I make the folder accessible as a webfolder on the web?
