Localhost error after uninstalling xampp

I've installed xampp for sometime and then uninstalled it. But after unistalling, whenever I'm trying to access apache, the browser is looking for /var/www/html/xampp directory, which I've deleted. This I noticed after checking httpd/log files. The other directories which are there in /var/www/html also became unaccessible. Whereas in services httpd is running without any error.
Can anyone suggest me the way to restore apache again and access localhost through my firefox browser.
