I'm using xampp 1.4.16 because xampp 1.5 have mysql 5 and many programs are not compatible with it, but xampp 1.4.16 have an old version of Apache. How can I update the xampp apache to version 2.0.55?

This can only be done by recompiling Apache from source.
You can find the configures in /opt/lampp/share/configures.tar.gz
