accessing mysql via commandline

Ya, I know this question sounds ridiculous. But commands i use to normally access mysql on rh9 machine are not working with xampp setup & mysql. Do i need to go to a special dir or something? Just wanting to access mysql via command line..............thanks in advance for your time.

You have to specify the path: /opt/lampp/bin/mysql

Or you could add /opt/lampp/bin to your path.
