Xampp user.. Linux NOOB Help!! accessing /opt to load site

Postby Rory Witham » 12. May 2005 00:47

I got a website and just switched over to linux ( suse) I got it installed after a while..... What fun that was.
My main Issue currently is the lay out and how to load my website into the /opt/lampp/
Or infact where they go??
I know in windows - the HTdocs is the root, It may be that the current index html file is diverting which i would think it is.

My main issue is that i can load the website to the directory nor alter the file and even set the permissions.
The Suse does seam to allow admin rights to me so that I can edit the folders and place the files that I need to run the server correctly.

I have found the config files, so I HOPE nothing else will be an issue.

Any one got any advice that may help.. Many thanks in advanced/. :?:

Do you have "root" access on this system?

I found out what was going on..
I needed to use the file manager, this allows me to access the files and alter them,
I could not find the SQL database, Apache reports another SQL server is running, I dont quite know what it is?
But I found one file that i was looking for when I replaced it there was no difference in the website?
Is this from where the SQL database dumps to the bin as on the windows set up?
I guess the issue I had was being a linux noob
