Access permission is currently denied

I installed Xampp on Ubuntu. The test for localhost works fine but when I enter in my ip address I get this message:

User Login - Failed

Access permission is currently denied

Any idea on how I could fix this?

have you looked at the permissions on your htdocs folder and sub directories? Do you get the same error as root?
