XAMPP in my home directory

Postby Francois » 15. March 2005 21:50

Hi
I want to set up xampp in my home dir. I have done this
mkdir /home/fra/opt
tar xvfz xampp .... .gz -C /home/fra/opt
ln -s /home/fra/opt /opt
cd /opt/lampp/lib/mysql
ln -s /opt/lampp/lib/mysql/limysqlclient.so.14 libmysqlclient.so.12

When I connect to http://localhost/xampp, the display is ok. I can test the example. But
I can't connect to phpMyAdmin
the xterm session gives *"Unknown HZ value! (92) Assume 100."
The left frame of phpMyAdmin gives
2013 - Lost connection to MySQL server during query

#tail -10 /home/fra/opt/lampp/var/mysql/arabis.err gives
Number of processes running now: 0
050315 21:29:03 mysqld restarted
/opt/lampp/sbin/mysqld: ready for connections.
Version: '4.1.7-log' socket: '/opt/lampp/var/mysql/mysql.sock' port: 3306 Source distribution
libgcc_s.so.1 must be installed for pthread_cancel to work

Number of processes running now: 0
050315 21:29:11 mysqld restarted
/opt/lampp/sbin/mysqld: ready for connections.
Version: '4.1.7-log' socket: '/opt/lampp/var/mysql/mysql.sock' port: 3306 Source distribution

Thanks for any suggestion

François
