Tomcat to mysql

Dear all
I intstall xampp on fedora core 3. And then i added tomcat modules.Every thing is ok
But i can't connect tomcat to mysql data base. Tomcat is running at port 8080 on ok.
But it run with apache ,tomcat does not know mysql
