PCRE with UTF8 support

Postby bouleyh » 26. November 2015 15:26

I've just installed lampp 5.6.14-3 on centos 7 and I get this error when unitesting my application :
'this version of PCRE is compiled without UTF support at offset 0'

Here is the output of pcretest :

PCRE version 8.37 2015-04-28
Compiled with
8-bit support
No UTF-8 support
No Unicode properties support
No just-in-time compiler support
Newline sequence is LF
\R matches all Unicode newlines
Internal link size = 2
POSIX malloc threshold = 10
Parentheses nest limit = 250
Default match limit = 10000000
Default recursion depth limit = 10000000
Match recursion uses stack

So what to do exactly to have the utf8 support in lampp?

Thanks in advance,
bouleyh

Nothing.

You either can ask Bitnami, if they enable utf8 support in their distribution (this requires new compilation of PHP), or you can drop Xampp and use PHP from a repository and compile it on yourself. But you cannot do anything by yourself in order to have utf8 support in lampp.
