Please help me as im a complete n00b to this software..

I have installed it fine into default location and all fine there.

My question is what is the default root location for the website pages??

My default location is C:\apachefriends\xampp\htdocs

you need to put your web content (i.e. home)into this folder then goto your web page i.e. http://127.0.0.1/home

this will then bring up this page.
