updated - setting up wordpress in xampp mysql

Postby Techhunter » 15. February 2024 21:20

I am trying to install wordpress to connect with mysql. The blog post instructions I'm following say to put the wordpress folder, extracted, into htdocs, and then install.

But the phpmyadmin database i have created isn't stored in htdocs, it's stored in mysql\data

Do I need to put the wordpress folder in the mysql\datafolder as well or instead of?

Also, while looking overthings - I have a series of .html and .php I want to add to the site. I've worked out how to add images. But I am struggling to workout (even with the help files) how to attach .html files (if i need to

No, you dont need to put a wordpress folder into the data folder.

This is not a wordpress forum, ask for wordpress support in a wordpress forum.
