I'm unable to start Mysql

I am trying to start mysql on an instance of xampp successfully set up on another system. I tried and both apache and mysql failed until I logged into my administrator account. Once I logged into the admin account I first ran the file .\setup_xampp.bat. That was successful. Then I ran the control panel and installed the apache and mysql services. Apache asked for permission to allow through the firewall (which I allowed) and the installed and ran. Mysql didn't initially ask for firewall access but the service installed however the process wouldn't run. I uninstalled and reinstalled. This time the process asked for access through the firewall which I allowed. The service installed but it still isn't running.

From control panel I get:

When running the file xampp_start.exe I get:

I verified that system has full access to the xampp folder. What do I need to do to get Mysql to run.

Obviously, there must be something gone wrong. MySQL clearly states:

For whatever reason, the drive letter of the Xampp installation is missing:

I removed it because I didn't think that it's necessary. I tried all permission for that file for the user's group but I'm still getting that error message.

Thats absolutely and totally wrong. Drive letters are absolutely important, as letters for some devices (like network drives) do only exist for the logged in user, but not for System user (which runs the services).

I didn't remove it from xammp. Just the post. What's the solution? I've changed the permissions to include everyone but I still can't start it.

Nobbie if you need to know something about the drive please ask because I don't know what it is. I've already tried to provide the files with as much permissions as I know how so I don't know what else to tell you. How do I make sure that it's available to the system? System has full permissions to the folder. I found the following error in the control panel but I don't know how to fix it.

I replaced the my.ini file with a backup and stopped receiving that message. I change the driver letters in the properties.ini file and it still isn't running.
