Upgrading MediaWiki

Hi All.

I was trying to upgrade my mediawiki from 1.37 to 1.40. I thought I would be able to do the following.

Backup the DB.
Drop the DB
Navigate to the new 1.40 installer and set all up from scratch
I thought then I could reimport the DB however it gave errors for items existing so i dropped the db and reimported successfully.
I copied over images from the 1.37 folder to 1.40

When I launch the 1.40 version it is having an error that no homepage exists, and all the contents from the 1.37 wiki are not present. I thought this would pull over from the db import.


Any help would be appreciated here. Thanks in advance.
