Apache shuts down for no apparent reason after being run

Postby Polda18 » 03. November 2023 22:21

Heyo. I just decided to start XAMPP server after a long time again and it turns out I can't launch the Apache service. It immediately shuts down after being run for no apparent reason. I checked if I don't somehow run another service on ports 80 and 443 and no, I don't. And config seems to be okay, so I don't know what happened. It does it even if I run it as administrator (which should be default anyway, but whatever). Well, the output log isn't much helpful as well. All it does it tells me this:

Where could a problem be? Should I reinstall it? I'll have to backup my v-hosts tho.

Oh, and apparently this is an issue as well. It started doing it when I ran XAMPP as an administrator.

I figured it out. When I launched "xampp-start.exe", the error log was more explaining what happened. So I was getting rid of my old system partition and enlarging data partition, which effectively changed the drive letter in Windows. I forgot to change it in XAMPP. So it errored out. I changed it so it looks to the new drive letter instead, now it works.
