MySQL shutdown unexpectedly + no backup folder!

Postby AlbertoAmoruso » 20. June 2023 13:41

Hi,

I've created a MediaWiki I use to log in my notes from class.

But the last time I tried to launch MySQL, it gave me this message:

"Error: MySQL shutdown unexpectedly.
This may be due to a blocked port, missing dependencies,
improper privileges, a crash, or a shutdown by another method.
Press the Logs button to view error logs and check
the Windows Event Viewer for more clues
If you need more help, copy and post this
entire log window on the forums"

From other posts I've read I should swap the data folder with backup in xampp/mysql, but in my mysql there's no backup at all!

What can I do?

Thanks in advance!

I have been following the below guidance (which I got from youtube).
Delete aria_log_control in the folder xampp/mysql/data/
Then restart mysql
It worked for me not forever, for few more attempts, before it crashes again, we can take backup atleast
