There could be several reasons for this issue. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

Check the error logs: Click on the "Logs" button in the XAMPP control panel for MySQL. This will open the log file, which may provide more specific information about the error. Look for any error messages or warnings that could indicate the cause of the shutdown.

Check for blocked ports: Sometimes, other applications or services may be using the same port that MySQL requires. Make sure that port 3306 (the default MySQL port) is not being used by any other program on your system. You can use a port-checking tool or the command prompt to verify this.

Verify dependencies: Ensure that all the required dependencies for XAMPP and MariaDB are properly installed. This includes checking if the correct versions of Apache, PHP, and other components are installed and compatible with each other.

Check privileges: Ensure that the user account running XAMPP has the necessary privileges to access and run MySQL. Make sure that the account has appropriate permissions for the MySQL data directory and files.

Restart your system: Sometimes, a system restart can help resolve temporary issues that could be causing the unexpected shutdown.
