Hello all,

I have recently installed xampp using the installer provided on the website, when I click on "xampp basic start" from the start menu, a command prompt window opens up and then IE6 opens with XAMPP logo on and language select below, when I click "English" it takes ages to load and nothing happens then, I waited till it said "The page cannot be displayed", "Deutsche" is the same thing too. I checked out the logs and this is the only error in the log that's repeated to an extent that the log file was greater than 4MB, it starts reporting this error from just when it loads.

[Sat Oct 30 01:23:20 2004] [error] (OS 10038)An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket. : Child 3336: Encountered too many errors accepting client connections. Possible causes: dynamic address renewal, or incompatible VPN or firewall software. Try using the Win32DisableAcceptEx directive.

I have WinXP with SP2, it's firewall is disabled because I use Zone Alarm Pro, I enabled all programs for xampp to act as server and access Internet, further more the log of Zone Alarm Pro has nothing blocked for apache or mysql. I also tried closing the firewall and I still get this error.

Any clue?

NOP

Doesn't work, thanks for help though.

I installed it on my laptop that has Win2000, also Zone Alarm Pro, and it works perfectly, so, now I'm 100% sure it's not Zone Alarm.

Suggestions???
