Apache and MySql suddenly gone.

Problems with the Windows version of XAMPP, questions, comments, and anything related.

Apache and MySql suddenly gone.

Postby Saerimner » 29. October 2022 20:01

When I started up the Xampp Control Panel earlier today, I recieved to following error messages:

Problem detected: Apache Not Found!
Disabling Apache buttons
Run this program from your XAMPP root directory!
Problem detected: MySQL Not Found!
Disabling MySQL buttons
Run this program from your XAMPP root directory!

Everything worked just fine yesterday. But when I logged off to go to bed, Windows began updating - presumely to migrate my system from Windows 10 to Windows 11. At least Windows announced a failed attempt to install version 11, when I returned today.

Any ideas how I fix this? I have only been working with Apache for a week after a several years long break, so I more or less have to relearn everything from scratch.

Thank you very much for any advise.

A follow-up question. Since the obvious answer to my first one is just to reinstall, what parts of my old MySQL (and maybe other files/folders?) would I need to copy-paste into a new one to transfer all data generated so far? I'm working on a wiki based on MediaWiki, so I will also copy my wiki-folder from hotdocs.

Again, thx in advance for any advise.
