Learning How 2 Use XAMPP-Correctly

For some time now I have been stumbling around XAMPP trying to intuitively figure out how to get the optimum use out of this package and have come to the conclusion that I really do need to go through a properly structured Tutorial

Could any member please, from this field of vast experience, recommend the best tutorial to achieve this outcome

Hi Warren,

Can you describe where exactly you have difficulties?
The main steps to get started are:

• Get the needed components started (mainly Apache and MySQL/MariaDB, you can skip the others most commonly)
• create a php script with help of a plain text editor (like Notepad++, Sublime Text, VS Code, etc) and place it in \xampp\htdocs\ (e.g. C:\xampp\htdocs\myfile.php)
• Access the file by requesting it by your browser ( in this example http://localhost/myfile.php )

If you are at this point you can act further, like creating a Database with help of phpmyadmin and installing a webapplication like wordpress.
