Apache Error ID

After installing for some 10 4 times the XAMPP without getting stuck on restarting my desktop, I managed to set up a PASSWORD using mysqladmin.
I was than taken to localhost, mysql ok, downloaded Wordpress, registered to Bitnami and than APACHE stopped, it was active when I set up the password. I set the "cookie" on mysql but didn't touch Apache.
What am I missing please?

ok I know there is a conflit of ID but since I only used "root" and the password set up presented here is displayed differently to me: Maria [(none)]> instead of mysql> on the prompt... what suggestion you have for me to set this up with wordpress bitmami bundle please?
I am reinstalling the whole app... thanks people.
