port based virtual hosts on a LAN

Postby markosjal » 21. February 2022 03:52

I can find guides how to set up virtual domains using different host names (host name based)

I can find guides how to set up virtual domains using different IP addresses (IP based)

As I am using Apache on a LAN I want to enable virtual domains using port numbers

no mention of it here either https://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/vhosts/

Anyone have some real working examples?

thanks

We don't provide any support via personal channels like PM, email, Skype, TeamViewer!

Keep in mind that you have to specify the portnumber in the URL and also must configure Apache to listen on that ports. All in all you should not use portbased VirtualHosts unless you really need them. In many cases you can avoid portbased VirtualHost by using port mapping in your router.
