Cannot find GD2 dll

My brand-new installation of xampp / php (7.4.27-2 / 8.0.15-0 / 8.1.2-0) does not seem to include the file php_gd2.dll. When I attempt "imagecreatetruecolor()" or "imagecreatefromgif()" I receive the error "Call to undefined function". My phpinfo() listing does not have a section for GD - just a listing under Credits for "GD Imaging". Any guidance would be appreciated!

Is the extension gd2 uncommented in your php.ini file?

It is not listed in my php.ini file.

It is, at least in your XAMPP 7.4.27-2 version.
Since PHP 8 the extension is renamed to only gd

Fascinating. The php.ini file is significantly different from the php.ini I have been using. The entire section headlined “Dynamic Extensions” is new - and as you suggested, the line “extension=gd” is commented. Tomorrow I will test that - and thanks for your time!

Problem resolved - uncommented the line and phpinfo() now finds a section for "GD". Code now works as expected - thank you!
