How do I make multiple Virtual hoists for use on LAN only?

Postby markosjal » 05. August 2021 02:54

I know that I can use Apache with Multiple Virtual hosts. I also know that this is most often done with domain names. I want to use multiple hosts on LAN. Do I need to assign multiple IPs? Can this be done with Apache running on multiple Ports?

Can someone please explain how this might be done?

Thankls

I want to host multiple virtual sites but only on a LAN
Much like apache can host mydomain.com and myseconddomain.com but I need it to work ONLY on a LAN, not on public Intrernet

There is no difference for Apache, Apache even does not know whether it is a public server or a local. Simply configure the VirtualHosts as needed. Instead of registering the ServerNames (i.e. Domains) at a provider, enter them to the hosts file of every client and the server, or setup your own DNS Server. Some routers also provide DNS Servers or basic functionality.
