perl cpan module install fails

Postby bbnd » 29. June 2021 21:54

Hey all,

New to xampp (8.0.7) and trying to use a perl script called eponym that updates a DDNS entry in my DNS provider.

After download of eponym there is an authentication process run and upon doing so, I get the error that the perl module MIME::Lite is missing. Ok, no problem. I started cpan in /xampp/perl/bin and in cpan I used the command install MIME::Lite. All goes well until toward the end and the error

"The system cannot find the path specified.
RJBS/MIME-Lite-3.033.tar.gz
C:\xampp\c\bin\gmake.exe -- NOT OK"

is thrown. I assume that it wants a c compiler to continue making the module but can't find it in the above path.

I looked through the /xampp file structure and the file /xampp/c does not exist.

If anyone could fill me in on how to fix this OR can point me to a resource that can help I would be appreciative.

This is the entire output of the cpan command.

cpan> install MIME::Lite
