Maria DB keeps getting corrupted

Postby BaseD75 » 06. June 2021 16:15

I just started out using XAMPP (8.0.6) to create a wordpress site on my own.

Did all the installations and got it to work on my Win10 Dell Latitude laptop.
However, for some reason every other day (there is no logic in it) I get several database errors.
It starts with wordpress not being able to access the database anymore.
But I also saw errors like: [ERROR] mysqld.exe: Aria recovery failed. Please run aria_chk -r on all Aria tables.

In all cases a repair on all tables and resetting privilages did the trick to get it back to work again.
Mostly the user table got corrupted and the phpmyadmin privilages got scrambled.

Of course this is no way to keep working.

Is there maybe a common reason why the DB keeps getting corrupted?
- maybe a virus scanner? I run Symantec endpoint protection
- maybe some rights problem

Maybe anyone had the same problem. Or an idea on how to get to the bottom of this.

Hope anyone can help :?
