Xampp Shell cannot be turned on

Hi guys, I just meet seriously troubles here, I cannot open the Xampp Shell by click the 'Shell' on the Xampp Control Panel. Some window flashed out and then disappear with out any thing happened. I then go to xampp folder and run 'xampp-shell.dat' and the same thing happened again. However I can still access to the localhost properly. I don't know why this is happening, never met this kind of situation before.

Actually, it is "xampp-shell.bat", and not xampp-shell.dat.

Last not least - what is your problem now? xampp-shell is not important for Xampp, Apache runs without the Shell. What are you missing?
