Apache does not start from XAMPP Control Panel

I had XAMPP and WordPress installed & working, even with a small and local website.

Then tried to update a WP Theme, and got a message about httpd.exe being possible ransomware, from my Acronis security package. I blocked the update, just to be safe. Apache would not start afterwards, even though Acronis indicated it would recover the files. So, I uninstalled XAMPP (including Apache and MySQL), renamed the folder, restarted then reinstalled.

Now, fresh after the re-install, at the Control Panel, Apache does not start, and the error log shows:

[Mon May 03 14:49:03.177653 2021] [ssl:warn] [pid 5500:tid 588] AH01909: www.example.com:443:0 server certificate does NOT include an ID which matches the server name

Repeating, I had XAMPP with Apache and MySQL working, and without any Microsoft libraries installed to make this work. I have seen such a reference in some posts.

Please advise, and Thank You in advance.

EDITING (4 April) TO ADD:

I noticed red "X" in the XAMPP Control Panel for "Modules Service" for each of Apache and MySQL. Clicked the Red X for MySql and it installed successfully and I started that service.

Clicking to install service for Apache resulted in an error dialog box stating "Windows cannot access the specified device path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

Running Apache_Start.bat as Administrator shows:
Apache 2 is starting ...
Access is denied.

I have been loading XAMPP as Administrator.

What is the full content of your XAMPP control panel log window?

Did you already try to replace the apache binaries with the original ones (for example from the same xampp zip version)?

From my point of view it seems that your security software did changes to the httpd.exe (like changing the file permissions) or interrupts its execution in any way.

RESOLVED !!!

Thank you - the last suggestion was the solution!
