Apache Service detected with wrong path

Hello All

Hate to ask but i need some help, im just starting out. I've installed XAMPP however i did have Apache already installed. XAMPP doesn't like that which is fine so i deleted it my Apache and XAMPP. Starting a fresh or so i thought. Anyway i have re-downloaded XAMPP but it still gives me this error message.

Sure it's a simple fix.

Initializing Modules
14:31:48 [Apache] Apache Service detected with wrong path
14:31:48 [Apache] Change XAMPP Apache and Control Panel settings or
14:31:48 [Apache] Uninstall/disable the other service manually first
14:31:48 [Apache] Found Path: "C:\Apache24\bin\httpd.exe" -k runservice
14:31:48 [Apache] Expected Path: "c:\xampp\apache\bin\httpd.exe" -k runservice
14:31:48 [main] Starting Check-Timer
14:31:48 [main] Control Panel Ready
14:31:52 [Apache] Attempting to start Apache service...

How do i go about changing the path to the correct one?

Hi,

XAMPP uses the same default service names for Apache as Apache would register itself. XAMPP cannot know why the service path is not correct, so the user has to solve this problem.

If the service is leftover from a already uninstalled installation, it can simply get removed. To do this you have to open a Windows command line with enhanced administration rights (rightclick the cmd.exe and choose "run as Administrator") and than type in the command
Code: Select all
sc delete Apache 2.4
