mod_auth_basic

I am puzzled about the status of mod_auth_basic in Xampp 8.03.

When I run apache_get_modules() it says it is installed.

When I look at xampp\apache\conf\httpd.conf it is commented out

When I look at xampp\apache\conf\original\httpd.conf it is NOT commented out.

I never made any changes in any of the two httpd.conf's. Restarting Apache made no difference.

At my test installation it is activated on both, the \conf\httpd.conf and the \conf\original\httpd.conf.
But \conf\httpd.conf is the file used. the original folder is just a backuped version of the default configs.
