MySQL Admin button resolving to weird domain

So when i click on the "Admin" button for MySQL and it opens PHPmyadmin..

the URL shows as

https://ekmhome.xyzphpmyadmin/

obviously its missing a / and i dont know why..

if i go in and manually change it to..

https://localhost/phpmyadmin

everything works fine and i can add a database. What do i need to change so that it resolves to localhost/phpmyadmin instead of the wrong domain..

If you stop the video on exactly the right spot you can see that the first url that the Admin Button requests is http://localhost/phpmyadmin/
After that a redirect is happening. You are the only person who can know why this is happening.
You have configured that url https://ekmhome.xyz, either in the Apache configs, a .htaccess file or an index file.

i've checked each of those files and there is no redirect anywhere. could it be the host file redirecting from 127.0.0.1 to ekmhome.xyz?

No, the hosts file translates domain names to ip addresses, not the other way round.

no idea then, i never set up a redirect for local host in any of the files. ill have to keep checking or unless someone can put me on the right path

There is only one way: Search all of the files inside your xampp directory for this weird domain. There are editors like Notepad++ which can search for a string in any files of a folder and its subfolders.

Actually it seems to be http://ekmhome.xyzphpmyadmin/ and not https://ekmhome.xyzphpmyadmin/

Thats a small, but very important difference.

As http://localhost/phpmyadmin shows up very quickly and shortly, and only THEN the URL changes, it seems to be a problem within phpmyadmin (maybe a problem of wrong configuraton in config.inc.php). Did you enter a wrong URL in config.inc.php or similar? Its not only a rewrite, as this would not switch from one URL to another visibly. This switching really means, that one request triggers another request (redirect?). Whatever you did to achieve that.
